New Book Highlights Steel’s Significant Role in Modern America

A new book titled “Steel: From Mine to Mill, The Metal that Made America” tells the story of steel’s journey to becoming the backbone for American infrastructure, from its use in railroads and steel ships to skyscrapers and bridges.

The narrative is based on author Brooke C. Stoddard’s travels to various American steelmaking facilities for a look at how steel is made and how it has affected history--from its pre-history through the Industrial Revolution and into the present age.
