Since the turn of the 20th century, thermal spraying (a corrosion protection process more commonly known as metallizing) has been used in a broad range of applications. More recently, this coating process has received increased attention in the bridge industry thanks to updated technologies.
A brief video by Canam (an AISC/NSBA Member and Certified fabricator) called “Metallizing from A to Zinc” explains the modern metallizing process and how it can provide a long service life for steel bridge applications.
