SJI Presents Building Design Webinar

The Steel Joist Institute (SJI) is kicking off this year’s webinar series with “Building Design – The Intelligent Approach” on February 15 from 3 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. (ET).

Followed by a 15-minute Q&A session, the course will inform engineers on how to frame buildings as cost-effectively as possible and will also discuss the need to think about the “big picture” when determining potential design problems and their solutions.

Learning objectives include selecting serviceability criteria for the horizontal framing members, lateral drift criteria and the structural system (i.e., braced frames, moment frames, shear walls, etc.). It will also cover how to determine the right connections for a job, designing connections for establishing their design criteria, checking that the design has been correctly transferred onto the construction documents and project specifications.

Individual and group registration is available at steeljoist.org/febwebinar. You can also view SJI’s 2017 webinar schedule at steeljoist.org/2017webinars.
