Today is Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day, an annual event dedicated to inspiring girls to explore the field of engineering through workshops, lab tours, online discussions and more at businesses, universities, libraries and other venues across the country. You can search for programs and events in your area, or join the conversation on social media using the hashtag #GirlDay2018.
In recognition of the day, the SEAOI Women in Structural Engineering (WiSE) is hosting its third annual Girl Day Photo Contest. Post an image of yourself on Instagram showing how you are encouraging the young women in your life to become engineers, and you'll be entered to win a $50 Amazon gift card.
Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day is part of national Engineers Week, which runs until February 24.
