Vintage Empire State Building Footage Highlights Importance of Construction Safety

On this #throwbackthursday, we’re going back to 1930 when the Empire State Building was under construction. While we’re always celebrating structural steel, we’d like to take a moment to appreciate not only the hard work of ironworkers across the U.S. then and now, but also all of the safety measures that have been developed since then—like being tied off!

Speaking of safety, at www.aisc.org/safety we offer a plethora of resources for your construction projects, including guides for OSHA interpretations and nearly 50 safety-related webinars in our archives. And if you have a specific safety-related question, you can contact our Steel Solutions Center at www.aisc.org/solutions.
