New Edition of ASCE Handbook for Women in Engineering Released

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) has published an update to the popular handbook Becoming Leaders: A Practical Handbook for Women in Engineering, Science and Technology, written by  F. Mary Williams and Carolyn Emerson. Building on the tenets from the first edition of time management skills, leadership, work-life balance and more, the second edition delves into current topics such as diversity and inclusion, the impact of social media in the workplace and implicit bias, as well as other factors affecting leadership success.

Coupled with career success and leadership self-awareness encouragement, the book is intended to provide all women—from those in the early state of their engineering career to experienced managers—with a resource on industry advice, information and inspiration.
