AISC certified member fabricator Banker Steel Company recently announced the topping out and completion of the structural steel for One Vanderbilt in New York. One Vanderbilt now claims the title of tallest office tower in Midtown Manhattan.

The tiered steel tower topped out at 1,401 ft. thanks to its 100-ft. architectural spire. Banker Steel subsidiary NYC Constructors erected the steel, which was fabricated at Banker's New Jersey and Virginia facilities. The skyscraper opens in 2020 in Manhattan's Grand Central District and will feature a three-story public observatory 1,020 ft. above the street.

"One Vanderbilt offered a challenging project at which we excel," said Don Banker, CEO and co-owner of Banker Steel Company. "We were able to deliver a vertically integrated solution in a timely manner through the multi-faceted fabrication processes at our plants and our subsidiary NYC Constructors to furnish and erect the structural steel and meet the critical schedule."
