Seismic Standard Available for Limited Public Review

The American Institute of Steel Construction invites the public to review and comment on part of its Seismic Provisions for Structural Steel Buildings (AISC 341).

These provisions apply to the design, fabrication, and erection of structural steel and composite steel and concrete seismic force-resisting systems. AISC expects to finalize and release the document later this year.

Revisions to Table D1.1a in that standard are available for public comment from May 13, 2022 to June 12, 2022.

Table D1.1a details width-to-thickness ratios for diagonal braces. This is the only part of the specification that is currently available for public review and comment.

The applicable portion of the draft standard is available as a free download at aisc.org/publicreview until June 12, 2022. Printed copies are also available by contacting Martin Downs at downs@aisc.org.

Please submit comments for consideration using the form provided online at aisc.org/publicreview to Cynthia J. Duncan, AISC's senior director of engineering (duncan@aisc.org) by June 12, 2022.
