AISC Hires Its First Market Development Director for Architecture

Nima Balasubramanian, Registered Architect, has joined the American Institute of Steel Construction as the Institute's first director of market development for architecture.

Balasubramanian will lead the development of AISC initiatives for steel architecture design, research, and innovation as the Institute works to build resources for and partnerships within the architecture community. She will lead a team of architects at AISC’s forthcoming architecture center, which will serve designers as the ultimate resource for all things structural.

“I'm eager to maximize the potential of steel in architecture, debunking myths and fostering a new era of sustainable and innovative design,” Balasubramanian said. “Together with our dedicated team and partners, I’m committed to contributing to a future where steel is a cornerstone of modern design and environmental stewardship."

“We are thrilled that Nima is joining our team,” said Brian Raff, AISC’s vice president of market development. “Her experience and perspective will help us develop programs that help architects design a brighter, more sustainable, inspiring future for all of us.”

Balasubramanian was most recently an operations lead and project manager with Moody Nolan, Inc., in Atlanta. She has held architecture and project management positions with Cube 3 Studio, Grassi Design Group, Thompson Design Group, and other firms in the U.S. and India.

She holds a master’s in architecture from Boston Architectural College and a bachelor’s in architecture from Anna University in Chennai, India.
