Specification for Structural Stainless Steel Buildings

The Specification for Structural Stainless Steel Buildings (ANSI/AISC 370-21) provides the generally applicable requirements for the design and construction of structural stainless steel buildings and other structures. Both LRFD and ASD methods of design are incorporated. Code of Standard Practice for Structural Stainless Steel Buildings

The Code of Standard Practice for Structural Stainless Steel Buildings (AISC 313-21) provides a framework for a common understanding of the acceptable standards when contracting for structural stainless steel. Unless specific provisions to the contrary are contained in the contract documents, the existing trade practices that are contained therein are considered to be the standard custom and usage of the industry and are thereby incorporated into a contract between the related parties. This standard was approved by the AISC Board of Directors on June 3, 2021.

The AISC Specification provides the generally applicable requirements for the design and construction of structural steel buildings and other structures. The 2016 edition of the AISC Specification and Commentary supersedes and is an update of the 2010 edition. Both LRFD and ASD methods of design are incorporated. Dual-units format provides for both U.S. customary and S.I. units. This standard was approved by ANSI as an American National Standard on July 7, 2016. Errata has been incorporated into the latest version of this standard dated March 2021.

They are used in conjunction with the AISC Specification for Structural Steel Buildings. Prequalified Connections for Special and Intermediate Steel Moment Frames for Seismic Applications (ANSI/AISC 358-16 with ANSI/AISC 358s1-18 and ANSI/AISC 358s2-20)

The prequalified connections standard has been developed by the AISC Connection Prequalification Review Panel in accordance with Chapter K of the Seismic Provisions for Structural Steel Buildings. The connections have been prequalified for use in special and intermediate steel moment frames without the need for additional testing. ANSI/AISC 358-16 with ANSI/AISC 358s1-18 (Supplement No. 1) and ANSI/AISC 358s2-20 (Supplement No. 2) supersedes the 2010 edition and its supplements. Only the load and resistance factor design method of design is incorporated. Dual-units format provides for both U.S. customary and S.I. units. This standard was approved by ANSI as an American National Standard on May 12, 2016. Supplement No. 1 was approved by ANSI on July 26, 2018. Supplement No. 2 was approved by ANSI on April 10, 2020.

ANSI/AISC N690-12 with ANSI/AISC N690s1-15 PDF
The immediate past version of this document was a supplement to the 2010 Specification for Structural Steel Buildings. It incorporated Supplement No. 1 dated August 11, 2015, which consisted of a new Appendix on steel-plate composite walls and associated revisions. This specification replaced ANSI/AISC N690-06. It is superseded by the 2018 version. This standard was approved by ANSI as an American National Standard on August 11, 2015.

This standard was approved by ANSI as an American National Standard on June 15, 2016. Errata has been incorporated into the latest version of this standard dated May 2017.

AISC’s standards are developed by consensus bodies that follow procedures that have been accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The procedures are available for download here.
