A Monumental Journey

A Monumental Journey, a 30-ft-tall sculpture in Des Moines, Iowa, celebrates the legacy of African American lawyers who founded the National Bar Association in 1925. Its shape is inspired by the form of African talking drums, with one drum effortlessly defying gravity atop the other.
