I-74 Mississippi River Bridge - Westbound Span

Situated in a major navigational channel, the I-74 Mississippi River Bridge required substantial coordination during the installation of the arch segments to minimize impacts on river traffic. Not only was timing crucial, but so was fit--to set the initial arch sections on their foundations, the project team used field milling techniques typically employed in the construction of movable bridges.
