AISC Research - Updates from SDII [E6]

The Steel Diaphragm Innovation Initiative (SDII) is in its final year of primary research. Over the past 5 years, SDII has advanced our understanding of bare and concrete-filled steel deck diaphragms in buildings. Efforts from SDII have led to newly adopted and proposed provisions in forthcoming standards including AISC 341-22, AISC 360-22, AISC 342-20, ASCE 7-22, ASCE 41-22, AISI S310-20, and AISI S400-20. Currently, the team is completing several large-scale tests on concrete-filled steel deck diaphragms that represent the capstone efforts of SDII.
