ASCE 37: Design Loads on Structures During Construction [E17a]

The ASCE 37 Standard provides design loads requirements for partially completed structures as well as temporary structures used during construction. This presentation will focus on the Standard's loading parameters and how, when and why an erection engineer addresses the temporary bracing of the structural steel to ensure stability and safety. It will also demonstrate how a collaborative steel team (fabricator/erector/erection engineer) applies and can modify the Standard's loading parameters while still adhering to the AISC Code of Standard Practice.
