Brent Spence Bridge Emergency Repair [B7]

This fire was not a drill! The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet responded to a multi-truck fire on the lower deck of the Brent Spence Bridge over the Ohio River by inspecting, designing, and letting a repair contract within 5 days. Even with the complicated MOT for 150,000+ ADT, the transparent information campaign conducted by the Cabinet resulted in an overall positive response from the public by the time the bridge was opened 41 days later.
