Design of Frames Using Web-Tapered Members
AISC Design Guide 25: Design of Frames using Web-Tapered Members, developed in conjunction with Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA), presents a comprehensive approach to the design of frames composed of web-tapered members within the context of the 2005 AISC Specification for Structural Steel Buildings. A preview of MBMA/AISC Design Guide 25 is presented along with an example for a typical clear-span gabled metal building frame. The presentation emphasizes key concepts as well as similarities and differences with respect to previous AISC provisions for designing these types of structures.
