Design of Reinforcement for Steel Members - Part 2
This webinar is the second of two parts. Several topics are discussed which affect the strength and serviceability of reinforced steel members. Deflection of beams with pre-load are covered briefly, and further information is provided on the design of built-up columns. Weld design topics covered include the calculation of weld strength for built-up columns, how intermittent welds affect the section properties of a built-up member, and the effect of stitch welds on the local buckling of plates. An example problem is used to illustrate some of the design principles for a composite beam with reinforcement at the tension flange.
This course is based on a past AISC Live Webinar.
