Design Practicum 1: Special Moment Frame Connections [E35]

Attendees will complete a design example using a multi-story special steel moment resisting frame so that common concerns and application of requirements can be illustrated. The example focuses on applying the requirements of the AISC Seismic Provisions and the prequalified connections document (AISC 350-10) for the beam-to-column connection. Welded unreinforced flange--welded web (WUF-W) and Bolted flange plate (BFP) connections are illustrated.
