Design Tips for Constructible Steel-Framed Buildings in High-Seismic Regions
This presentation reviews different steel lateral force-resisting systems including applicability in high-seismic areas including benefits, challenges and helpful tips for each system. Other topics include diaphragm design, transfer forces, collectors, and fabricator/erector issues. The presentation also investigates issues related to the use of deep column sections is special moment frames.
This course is based on a past NASCC session.
