Erection Engineering of the SoFi Stadium Roof [R3]

SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles's new state-of-the art NFL venue, incorporates a sweeping roof structure weighing approximately 30,000 tons, stretching almost 1,000 ft in length, and resting on base-isolators perched atop massive 100-ft-tall columns. Hassett Engineering and Degenkolb Engineers partnered to serve as Schuff Steel's erection engineer on the project to develop an efficient and innovative pre-assembly and erection sequence that allowed the roof to be safely and accurately erected in less than a year. This presentation will discuss Hassett and Degenkolb's scope and collaborations on the project and share details of some of the project's biggest construction challenges.
