Extending the Office to the Field [T7]

Do you hear: "BIM Tools are something that a guy in the office uses, not something for the field."Or: "Computers are for the office workers." These are quotes heard in any construction business that perform tasks both at the Office and in the Field. While this may once have been the case, technology has advanced so far that we no longer have any choice -- if we want to stay in business! There is an abundance of mobile and field technology that can be deployed today for immediate benefit. BIM tools can, and should, be used in the field -- for project planning, status updating, installation, layout and more. Mobile technology, from SMART phones to tablets to Wi-Fi can easily be adopted and used by all your remote staff, giving them instant access to the information they need, when they need it. Total Stations and laser scanning tools assist with layout and handover. Software advances let you collaborate and communicate remotely. We will review these advances from all sides and provide you with some truly valuable information to take away and let you get your project built more efficiently.
