Have you ever analyzed and designed identical steel frames in two different software programs and received two different answers? In this session, we will review several topics for structural steel member design, and do a side-by-side comparison of the calculations performed and discuss how the programs arrive at different solutions. Topics include finite element analysis, steel connection design, dynamic loading and design, and seismic provisions.
