Leaders on Leading Safety with an Introduction by Tom Schlafly [N42]

USACE faces safety challenges and provides proactive responses in design and construction of facilities with a high degree of variation. Facilities are constructed by many different contractors. Safety solutions have many common elements and yet are tailored to suit the unique needs of the project. The Corps provides input early in project development and they work to improve the record related to specific hazards that are common to all construction projects such as fall protection. Ellen Steward is responsible for USACE Safety and is pleased to share goals and methods with AISC members.
