Quality Assurance for Structural Engineering Firms - Tips, Techniques and Strategies [E20]

With fast-track construction, computerized design, complex building codes and younger engineers taking on more responsibility earlier in their careers, the need for structural engineering firms to have a comprehensive in-house Quality Assurance (QA) program has never been greater. Adoption of a QA program will result in better design, better contract documents, fewer RFIs and change orders during construction, a better product for clients and increased profitability for firms. This seminar reviews the components of a model QA program and discusses the techniques and strategies for performing in-house QA reviews. The presentation is informative for experienced engineers responsible for overseeing design, as well as for younger engineers just starting out in the profession.
