Seismic Provisions for Multi-Tiered Braced Frames [U7]

Multi-tiered braced frames can serve as an efficient solution in buildings where a typical braced frame configuration would be impractical. Beginning with the 2016 AISC Seismic Provisions, designers can select this system even in regions of high seismic activity. This session will define the MTBF system and discuss how it is designed with reference to the required seismic provisions and design examples.
