Steeling the Future [Th1] [Flash Conference]

As we sit here in our home offices, we can't help but contemplate what the future will reveal. Whether we foretell a dystopian or utopian future, the role of civil engineering (and steel construction in particular) will remain critical. All the visions of the future, whether foretold by Issac Asimov or by George Lucas, include high-rise steel construction. This presentation will offer a glimpse into the near future of high-rise building construction using structural steel as the material and system (SpeedCore) of choice. The presentation will also look further into the future where 3D printing, robotics, and advanced methods of manufacturing will play an important role.
