Seismic Design Night School Begins September 21

Classes begin Monday, September 21, for AISC’s new Night School course “Application of the AISC Seismic Design Manual.” This course focuses on applying the AISC Seismic Provisions for Structural Steel Buildings using examples from the AISC Seismic Design Manual, with an emphasis on discussing misunderstood and misapplied provisions.

The course consists of eight, 90-minute webinar sessions, which all take place on Monday evenings beginning at 7 p.m. (Eastern). Topics include:

  • In-depth examination of the general requirements of the AISC Seismic Provisions
  • Seismic design performance goals
  • Design and detailing of moment frames
  • Design and detailing of concentrically braced frames including buckling restrained braced frames
  • Quality requirements

Attendees can either register for the entire eight-session package (one attendee per connection) and receive up to 1.2 CEUs/12 PDHs upon passing a series of quizzes and a final exam, or they can register for individual webinars, with an unlimited number of attendees per connection, and receive 0.15 CEUs/1.5 PDHs per session.
