AISC is offering a three-part webinar series, “Welded Connections,” presented by well-known welding guru Duane Miller. The webinars will take place on June 29, July 6 and July 13 beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET. Each webinar is 1 hour and 40 minutes long.
The series will begin with a session on the fundamentals of welded connections including a review of applicable welding codes, the basics of welded joints and weld types and required weld metal strength levels. The second session will discuss seismic design and ductility, the 1994 Northridge earthquake and the requirements of the AWS D1.8 Seismic Welding Supplement, and will also introduce AISC 358 – Prequalified Connections for Special and Intermediate Steel Moment Frames. The last session will cover atypical welding applications for buildings and present practical solutions to challenging situations including extending anchor bolts, welding on coated steels, welding architecturally exposed structural steel (AESS), welding on existing structures and more.
This series offers a three-session package registration option and an individual webinar registration option. For more information and to register, go to www.aisc.org/webinars.
