Folded Steel Plate Girder Bridge, Muskingum County, Ohio

The American Iron and Steel Institute, Short Span Steel Bridge Alliance, American Galvanizers Association, and TEG Engineering, LLC are hosting a webinar on an inventive, new shape in short span bridge design: the press-brake tub girder (PBTG). PBTG is lightweight, cost-effective, easily transported, versatile, and with proper maintenance, can have a lifespan of up to 100 years. Included in the one-hour lecture will be a list of solutions on how to rebuild America’s infrastructure over the next decade and beyond and different systems that can utilize PBTG.

The presenter is Guy C. Nelson, PE, SE, a structural engineer for TEG Engineering, LLC who will examine two PBTG bridges he designed for St. Clair County, Mich.

Attendees can receive 1.0 LU or PDH.

The webinar will take place on Tuesday, May 15 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. EDT and is free to attend. Register here.

The PBTG webinar is just one of the several events during the sixth annual Infrastructure Week, May 14-21, a week that advocates for the critical importance of infrastructure throughout the U.S.  Learn more about Infrastructure Week here
