The Transportation Research Board is hosting a webinar on the concept of fracture-critical members (FCMs) in steel bridges. Recent research will be presented on specification methods to establish if a member should be classified as an FCM. Included in the two-hour lecture will be background and examples on how to evaluate internal member-level redundancy of mechanically fastened built-up steel members as well as the application of twin tub girder bridges in the context of system behavior.
The presenters are Robert Connor, Purdue University, (also the 2018 T.R. Higgins Award winner), Matt Hebdon, Virginia Tech University, and Jason Lloyd, Purdue University.
Attendees can receive 2.0 professional development hours (PDH).
The webinar will take place on Thursday, June 7 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. EDT and costs $95 to attend. Register here.
