It's Throwback Thursday and we're throwing it back to the 2010 NASCC: The Steel Conference in Orlando, Fla. During this conference, Rafael Sabelli of Walter P Moore and Associates presented an insightful session called "Braced Frame Connection Design."

The method develops consistent sets of design forces for gusset plate connection design based on increasing levels of complexity, with emphasis placed on clear free-body diagrams and consistent sets of forces corresponding to clear and understandable load conditions for the frame.
