Annual AISC Scholarship Recipients Announced
The AISC Education Foundation, in partnership with several other structural steel industry associations, awarded a total of $360,250 in funding to 90 undergraduate and master's level students for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Rebecca Bauman of the University of California, San Diego and Shirin Raschid Farrokhi of Georgia Tech will each receive $2,500 for their research projects during the fall 2023 academic term.

Steel-related field trips provide students--whether traditional or life-long learners--with not just educational opportunities but also memorable experiences. That's why the AISC Education Foundation has allocated $20,000 to establish and support a new, year-round Faculty-led Field Trips program.

Cristopher Montalvo Receives Inaugural Reidar Bjorhovde Outstanding Young Professional Award
Montalvo will attend NASCC: The Steel Conference in Charlotte, N.C., in April, participate in steel mill and fabrication shop tours over the summer and join the AISC Committee on Specifications meeting in Chicago in the fall.

Learning The Loop
Ball State College of Architecture professor J. Rod Underwood tasked his students with designing and creating a new sign as a legacy item to celebrate the college's 50th year. Thanks to generous funding from donors, the AISC Education Foundation was able to provide a monetary grant to help the class's vision come together.
