The AISC Education Foundation, in partnership with several other structural steel industry associations, awarded a total of $360,250 in funding to 90 undergraduate and master's level students for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Rebecca Bauman of the University of California, San Diego and Shirin Raschid Farrokhi of Georgia Tech will each receive $2,500 for their research projects during the fall 2023 term.

Cristopher Montalvo Receives Inaugural Reidar Bjorhovde Outstanding Young Professional Award
Montalvo will attend NASCC: The Steel Conference in Charlotte, N.C., in April, participate in steel mill and fabrication shop tours over the summer and join the AISC Committee on Specifications meeting in Chicago in the fall.

Aneesh Kakirde of Rutgers University and Haixin Zhou of Washington University in St. Louis will each receive $2,500 to conduct research projects during the fall 2022 academic term.
