Jim O. Malley Elected to National Academy of Engineering

James “Jim” O. Malley, SE, group director and senior principal of Degenkolb Engineers in San Francisco, has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) for his leadership in improving seismic design. His election follows more than 35 years of experience in structural engineering and design and contributing to more than 50 publications to date.

Among many professional associations, Malley is the current chair of the AISC Committee on Specifications and former chair of the Task Committee on Seismic Design. AISC awarded him the T.R. Higgins Lectureship Award in 2010, a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012, and a Special Achievement Award in 2000.
