This well thought out teaching aid shows how assignments based on written reviews of articles on steel buildings can be used to expand the knowledge of the students in steel design courses. Through these assignments, students have the opportunity to look at how structures behave and to consider alternatives designs. The written assignments give students experience in presenting engineering information to both engineers and non-engineers. With written assignments, this project expands the knowledge of future engineers in steel.
