Student Manual Discount Program

AISC provides the latest editions of the AISC Steel Construction Manual, AISC Seismic Design Manual, and Detailing for Steel Construction to students at reduced prices. Professors administer this program by requesting a “Class Key” from AISC, which they forward on to their students. Students use the “Class Key” to obtain a unique “Discount Code” to purchase an AISC Manual at the deeply discounted student rates as noted below:

  • Steel Construction Manual is priced at $125 (+ shipping and sales tax, where applicable) 
  • Seismic Design Manual is priced at $65 (+ shipping and sales tax, where applicable)
  • Detailing for Steel Construction is priced at $50 (+ shipping and sales tax, where applicable)

Special Note:
The 16th edition Steel Construction Manual is now available as a selection in AISC’s Student Manual Discount Program for the fall semester! We will start fulfilling student orders for the 16th edition starting August 1. Desk copy requests for the 16th edition may also be submitted using this form.

Of course, the 15th edition remains an option for those who are not converting to the new manual immediately.

AISC Steel Construction Manual, 16th Edition

This manual is available to students through professors for the price of $125 (+ shipping and sales tax, where applicable) when purchased through the Student Discount Program. (Retail price is $250/member or $500/non-member)

This manual is the sixteenth major update of the AISC Steel Construction Manual, which was first published in 1927. The 16th Edition AISC Steel Construction Manual is based on the 2016 Specification for Structural Steel Buildings and replaces the 15th Edition of this publication.

The following specifications, codes and standards are printed in Part 16 of this Manual:

  • 2022 AISC Specification for Structural Steel Buildings
  • 2020 RCSC Specification for Structural Joints Using High-Strength Bolts
  • 2022 AISC Code of Standard Practice for Steel Buildings and Bridges

In a change from the previous edition, the 3rd Edition Seismic Design Manual is produced with a high-quality vinyl softcover that coordinates with the 15th Edition Steel Construction Manual.
